Drawing from Jessica Whitelaw's assertions about the power of disquieting picturebooks as places of possibility for growth and development, preschool teachers employed listening, discussing, movement, and mark-making, inviting their preschool learners to sit with the hard feelings Jeffers's picturebook evokes.
