In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

Landscape Journal has contributed significantly to the communication of research related to design, planning, and management of land since its first issue in 1982. The journal is a noted resource for landscape architecture and the academy. The excellence the journal embodies reflects the dedicated work of authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members and the University of Wisconsin Press (UW Press). The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) and UW Press participate jointly in the publication of the journal. Among other things, CELA is responsible for editorial management and is responsible for appointing the editor of the journal.

Over time, the research and publication needs of the academy have changed. Publication technologies and alternative distribution methods have evolved. However, the CELA Board of Directors (BoD) believes that these changes have not been fully realized. In July 2019, the board organized a vision task force to review editorial and production services, make recommendations to the board regarding these services, and offer business suggestions that will meet the future needs of Landscape Journal. The task force is chaired by Robert Corry, professor at University of Guelph (Landscape Architecture). Once completed, the CELA triad (president-elect, president, and past president) will review the progress of the task force and identify options for editorial and publication services for volume 38 and beyond.

In the meantime, the publication of Landscape Journal has continued with the assistance of interim editors and UW Press to keep manuscripts, reviews, editing, and production moving toward the completion of this issue (volume 37, no. 2, fall 2018) by the end of 2019. Previous coeditors Daniel Nadenicek and David Pitt have generously agreed to assist in the production of this issue. The CELA board seeks to publish a special double issue (volume 38, nos. 1 and 2), 100 Years of CELA, in 2020 to coincide with the annual conference theme.

The journal appreciates and values the service that CELA members contribute to upholding the excellence of Landscape Journal and looks forward to updating policies and contracts. [End Page iv]
