Un parcours historien en des temps numériques

As empirical research is still lacking, historians' discussions of the changes affecting the field of history due to digital transformations are strongly shaped by the specific context in which such discussions take place. Therefore, after reviewing the main features of the path of an historian working on digital history, the author focusses on what he considers to be the key challenges today, especially training for future historians, the new conditions for thinking about the mode of production of historical knowledge, and the regime of sources for history in the digital era.

Les travaux empiriques étant peu nombreux encore, les discours historiens consacrés aux mutations que connaît la discipline historique prise dans le contexte du déploiement des transformations numériques portent fortement la marque des circonstances de leur énonciation. C'est donc après le rappel des traits saillants d'un parcours d'historien confronté au numérique que l'auteur revient sur les enjeux lui apparaissant aujourd'hui centraux, en particulier la formation des futurs historiens, les conditions nouvelles d'une réflexion sur le mode de production des connaissances historiques et le régime des sources de l'histoire des temps numériques.
