Abstract:
Unfortunately, mass media have seemingly exacerbated this cultural trauma, just as with the many acts of terrorism, such as the Boston Marathon bombings, that disrupt our sense of safety and normalcy. Within this traumatic mediascape, E. L. Doctorow's Andrew's Brain (2014) explores the difficulties of working through a trauma that, as many scholars have argued, was experienced culturally.
