The Cervantes Society of America is delighted to announce the co-winners of the 2017 Luis Andrés Murillo Best Article of the Year award: Frederick A. de Armas and Alfredo Baras Escolá. Both articles—"Galeotto fu 'l libro: Don Quixote, Amadis, and The Tempest" by de Armas and "Dos 'Gallardos' teatrales: El 'catalán' de Lope de Vega y el 'español' de Cervantes" by Baras Escolá—appeared in the Fall 2017 issue of the journal.

The anonymous jury for the 2017 selection consisted of three members of the journal's Editorial Board. These esteemed colleagues evaluated all the articles published in Cervantes during 2017 (not counting book reviews and notes) and chose de Armas's and Baras Escolá's essays as the year's co-winners.

The CSA announced this award at its 2019 annual business meeting, which occurred in connection with the March 2019 annual meeting of the Renaissance Society of America in Toronto, Canada.

Congratulations, Fred and Alfredo! [End Page 9]
