Self-Portrait with Eraser
I drew the eraserfirst because I knew
it better than I knewmyself and because
it had been aroundthe block before me
and because it would, after having its way
with me, rub up againsteverything I'd ever loved.
Weep Holes
We build theseinto the dream-
house, holes drilledinto window sills,
so rainy daysdrain out. No
dream's completewithout looking [End Page 76]
ahead, withoutseeing ourselves
looking backat who—
dreaming—we'd been.
Transatlantic
I gave youmy last stamp—send it back. [End Page 77]
