NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS Essayists 509 Kenneth Haynes is Associate Professor ofComparative Literature and Classics at Brown University. He edited Geoffrey Hill's Collected Critical Writings (OUP, 2008). David C. Mahan is the President ofthe Rivendell Institute at Yale University and a lecturer in religion and literature at YaleDivinity School's Institute ofSacred Music. Jennifer Kilgore-Caradee completed a thesis about Geoffrey Hill's poetry in French. She teaches English at the University of Caen and has published articles about contemporary poetry in both French and English. Alex Shakespeare is a doctoral candidate at Boston College. He is beginning work on a dissertation on the significance of translation in twentieth-century American poetry. Emily Taylor Merriman is an Assistant Professor of English at San Francisco State University. She works on poetry and religion. ...
