NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS Essayists 313 Daniel M. Train is a Postdoctoral Fellow for Duke's Initiative in Theology and Arts (DITA) at the Duke Divinity School. His research interests include modern literature, literary criticism, biblical hermeneutics, and theological aesthetics. He is currently preparing a monograph on Flannery's O'Connor's hermeneutics and theological account of beauty. Marcia A. Morris is Professor of SlavicLanguages at Georgetown University. She has worked extensively on the transition from pre-modern to modern Russian literature, the interrelationship of literature and history, and formulaic literature. Morris is the author of Saints and Revolutionaries: The Ascetic Hero in Russian Literature, The Literature ofRoguery in Seventeenthand Eighteenth-Century Russia, and Russian Tales of Demonic Possession: Translations ofSavva Grudtsyn and Solomonia. Kevin J. Gardner is Professor of English at Baylor University, where he works in eighteenth- and twentieth-century British literature. He is the author of Betjeman: Writing the Public Life and the editor ofseveral volumes ofBetjemans writings. Philip Irving Mitchell is Director of the University Honors Program and Associate Professor of English at Dallas Baptist University. His current work includes a book about G. K. Chesterton and his practice of history and biography. Poets Jonathan Stull lives in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with his wife, Penny. Mr. Stull teaches Creative Writing at the University of Northern Iowa and has been published in numerous magazines. Janet Lowery, PhD, joined the faculty ofthe University of St. Thomas from Binghamton University in upstate New York. Her poetry has been published in literary reviews such as Poetry East, Greensboro Review, Concho River Review, Fideles Pennsylvania English, 13th Moon, and in several anthologies. John Ruffteaches English and directs a first-year Core Program at Valparaiso 314 CHRISTIANITY AND LITERATURE University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
