Abstract

Abstract:

Between 30 October 2017–24 March 2018 Duke University showcased its extensive Ottoman and Turkish collections through an exhibiton entitled, Yasak/Banned: Political Cartoons from Late Ottoman and Republican Turkey. This article details the exhibition, Duke University Library's (DUL) growing Ottoman and Turkish collections, and, in particular, with a focus on Osman Nuri Karabıyık from whom DUL acquired the majority of its holdings.
