D. Grant Campbell holds a PhD from Queen's University in Canada, and is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario. His research focuses on classification and knowledge organization, particularly their relationship to emerging technologies.

Brian Cheadle has been living in England since his retirement and continues to work mainly on Dickens.

Michelle Allen-Emerson is Professor of English at the U. S. Naval Academy. Publications include Cleansing the City: Sanitary Geographies in Victorian London (2008) and the edited collection of primary source material Sanitary Reform in Victorian Britain (2012, 2013). Her current book project, "Why We Don't Read Dickens (And Why We Should)," addresses the obstacles (real and imagined) that Dickens's novels pose for readers, while demonstrating the pleasures and wisdom they afford.

William F. Long is Emeritus Professor in Biochemistry at the University of Aberdeen and contributes regularly to The Dickensian and Dickens Quarterly.
