Abstract

Abstract:

The paper focuses on the literary application of modes of perception in the story Wenn die Kinder Steine ins Wasser werfen by Xaver Bayer. Bayer’s text is an example of the “perception narration,” which primarily interrogates ways of seeing in the modern world. Bayer uses some modes of the fragmentation of modern perception (W. Benjamin) and attention (J. Crary) to create his own authentic poetics.
