Abstract:
“In Dahyan” and “County of Birth” capture the trauma of war on the lives of people living in a war-ravaged place. The poems speak to our collective fear, our frail hope in the face of what reduces us to figures and dust. The poems are windows through which I see the remains of everything that remains–both in Dahyan and some places in my country, Nigeria.
