Jamal Bahmad is Assistant Professor of Cultural Studies in the Department of English at Mohamed V University. He earned his PhD degree from the University of Stirling in 2014. He has held a British Academy postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Leeds and, prior to that, was a research fellow at Philipps-Universität, Marburg (Germany). Bahmad was most recently an AHRC research fellow at the University of Exeter, where he worked on the Transnational Moroccan Cinema project. He recently co-edited a special issue of French Cultural Studies (August 2017) on trash cultures in the Francophone world and a special issue of The Moroccan Cultural Studies Journal on Moroccan Cinema. In addition to working on his first monograph on Moroccan urban cinema since the 1990s, Bahmad has co-authored a monograph on Moroccan transnational cinema (Edinburgh University Press, 2020).

Il a été chercheur post-doctoral de la British Academy à l'Université de Leeds après avoir été chercheur associé à Philipps-Universität à Marburg en Allemagne. Plus récemment, il été chercheur AHRC à l'Université d'Exeter, où il a rejoint le projet « Transnational Moroccan Cinema ». Il a récemment coordonné un numéro spécial de la revue French Cultural Studies (août 2017) sur les « trash cultures » du monde francophone et un dossier de Moroccan Cultural Studies Journal sur le cinéma marocain. Il est le co-auteur d'une monographie sur le cinéma marocain transnational qui sera publiée par Edinburgh University Press en 2020. Il prépare actuellement sa première monographie sur le cinéma urbain marocain.
Meryem Belkaïd est Assistant Professor en Études francophones à Bowdoin College, aux États Unis. Sa thèse, obtenue à la Sorbonne nouvelle en 2012 après un Master en sciences politiques sur le Monde arabe à Sciences Po en 2005, porte sur le roman policier contemporain. Ses recherches actuelles portent sur le cinéma maghrébin et la manière dont le genre documentaire se développe dans la région depuis la révolution tunisienne. Elle reste très attentive aux importants changements politiques et sociaux survenus dans la région depuis la révolution tunisienne de décembre 2011, et publie régulièrement des billets pour le Huffington Post Algérie. Elle est l'auteur de plusieurs articles sur le roman policier, la littérature et le cinéma maghrébins dans les revues Lendemains, Fixxion, North African Studies Journal, etc.
Meryem Belkaïd is an Assistant Professor of Francophone Studies at Bowdoin College. She holds a master's degree in Political Sciences from Sciences Po Paris and her dissertation, completed at La Sorbonne Nouvelle, is about contemporary crime fiction. She currently works on North African cinema and how transnational documentaries are more and more produced since the Tunisian revolution. In addition, she remains intellectually engaged with the region, commenting on current events, culture, and politics through her blog with the Huffington Post Algeria. She is the author of several articles published in Lendemains, Fixxion, North African Studies Journal, etc.
Brahim Benbouazza was born in Rabat, Morocco where he taught constitutional and administrative law as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Hassan II (Rabat-Salé). He holds an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke (Québec) and is presently a researcher at the University of Regina, Canada. In April 2013, he was the organizer of the following colloquium at the Institut français/University of Regina: "Le printemps arabe et la problématique du changement/The Arab Spring and the Problematics of Change".
