Samuel Menashe

Samuel Menashe (1925–2011) was the first recipient of the Neglected Masters Prize of the Poetry Foundation, and Christopher Ricks's Samuel Menashe: New and Selected Poems was published by the Library of America in conjunction with that award. Menashe's first book, No Jerusalem But This, published in 1971, was praised by Stephen Spender for "language intense and clear as diamonds."
