The Liminal Period: A Manifesto for Living Art

Digital technology is influencing all facets of human life, including art. Art is entering the Liminal period, in which technology, specifically, Evolutio informatica (EI)—digital computation that autodevelops—will enable artists to create in a new mode. The shifts surrounding art production in the Liminal period will be as pivotal as the transitions from representation to abstraction and from conceptual to performance art. We call upon the art world to recognize the Liminal and embrace living art.
