Abstract

Abstract:

To analyze twenty-first century conflict on extractivism in Abya Yala, this study shows that it is necessary to reflect on the foundations of the paradigms that are colliding, and scenarios where nature is not a "natural resource" and "development" is not sustainable. The article establishes a dialogue between Indigenous leaders from the north, center, and south of Abya Yala, who explain how the ancestral owners of minerals (not necessarily human beings) are the ones who tie off diseases and allow balance and reciprocity between all beings.
