Abstract

Abstract:

In this article, the idea of wine as an aesthetic is contemplated and supported to address that wine education should be conducted in a manner more similar to other aesthetic education. Historically, wine is treated like a product by wine educators, which has led to different level of understanding for students than it is believed they could obtain via an aesthetics education. This article begins to address similarities in the literature that wine has to music and art, and how a change in educational philosophies could provide new understanding of wine for those being educated.
