Abstract

Abstract:

There is limited information on parenting skills for parents of children with severe disabilities. Raising children with these disabilities requires skills that extend beyond most parenting practices and training. We address five key skill areas: building communication, establishing a routine, how to discipline, getting connected with supports, and acceptance and advocacy.
