Michelle Handelman uses video and performance to re-contextualize historical figures in cinema through a queer cinematic framework. Recent projects include: Hustlers & Empires (commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 2018) and Irma Vep, The Last Breath (2013/15). She is a Guggenheim fellow and Associate Professor of Film, Media and Performing Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC.
