Abstract:
Ada Chang, a pianist in O'ahu's jazz circuit during World War II, intends to leave the island and forge her own path. Johnny Pops, leader of the Johnny Pops orchestra, encourages her relationship with Freddie, a guitar player infatuated with Ada. As the war continues, Ada feels trapped by her relationship with Freddie and the wartime environment she's surrounded by.
