Abstract:

This article explains the issues and methodological premises that gave rise to a research project focused on preparing a database of Pedro Calderón de la Barca's theater (excluding autos sacramentales and shorter dramas such as the entremés and the loa). Discussion here compares the information provided in the new Calderón Digital to the Artelope database, which has served as a point of reference and inspiration. Key points of emphasis in this report are the methodological considerations behind the determination of the subfields used to present each drama registered in the Calderón Digital: motifs, metric segmentation, and dramatic subgenre.
