Abstract

abstract:

This article examines the Blue Mountain Project's digitization of Ilya Ehrenburg and El Lissitzky's constructivist journal Veschch/Objet/Gegenstand. The article considers the international aims of the short-lived journal with respect to its organization and border-crossing content. It also seeks to understand how the journal's new digital home maintains—and transforms—those international aims. Ultimately, the article argues that the Blue Mountain Project's digitization allows for the (re)articulation of constructivism in the present.
