Abstract

Abstract:

Vivian Maier (1926–2009), an American street photographer living primarily in Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles, took more than 150,000 photographs yet shared her work with no one and lived in obscurity as a nanny. Her work was discovered fortuitously during a 2007 locker auction sale and has now become the viral subject of numerous books and documentaries. This poem explores her subjects and her privacies.
