I was born in Prentice Women’s Hospital—a landmark of architectural brutalism, designed by Bertrand Goldberg. In 2014, Prentice was demolished by Northwestern University, where I worked at the time. These poems document the demolition obsessively, asking: what is the relationship between an individual and institution under neo-liberalism?
