CONTRIBUTORS Mervyn J. Bain (M.A, MPhil and PhD, University of Glasgow) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom). He has published various articles on Cuba’s relationship with the Soviet Union and Russia. He is also the author of three books Soviet-Cuban Relations 1985 to 1991. Changing Perceptions in Moscow and Havana, and Russian-Cuban Relations Since 1992. Continuing Camaraderie in a Post-Soviet World and From Lenin to Castro, 1917 to 1959. Early Encounters Between Moscow and Havana, published by Lexington Books in January 2007 and July 2008 and April 2013. Dr. Michelle Leigh Farrell is an assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Fairfield University. In her research Dr. Farrell focuses on Cuban and Venezuelan film and the contemporary changing audiovisual landscapes in both countries. She is the recipient of research grants such as the American Philosophical Society’s Franklin Grant to conduct research in Cuba, as well as the American Association of University Women’s ShortTerm Publication Grant. At Fairfield University, she teaches courses on Latin American film and literature, as well as Portuguese and Spanish languages. William Kelly is an Assistant Professor of History at Morehouse College where he teaches Latin American history and world history. Jane M. Rausch earned a B.A. at DePauw University (1961) and her M.A. (1964) and Ph.D. (1969) at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She joined the History Department at the University of MassachusettsAmherst in 1969 where she taught Latin American History until her retirement in May 2010. A specialist in Colombian history and comparative frontier regions she is the author several books. Her most recent publications are Colombia and the Transformation of the Llanos Orientales (2013) and Colombia and World War I: The Experience of a Neutral Latin American Nation during the Great War and Its Aftermath, 1914–1921 (2014).
