- New Book Review Editor Named
The editors of J.E.S. are pleased to introduce our new Book Review Editor, Dr. Erik J. Ranstrom, an assistant professor of religion at Rosemont (PA) College. He holds a B.A. in history from Westfield (MA) State College, and both an M.A. in theology and a Ph.D. (2014) in comparative theology from Boston (MA) College. In 2012, he was a visiting student at the Oxford (U.K.) Centre for Hindu Studies. Prior to coming to Rosemont in 2015, he held affiliate or adjunct positions at Fairfield (CT) University, St. Joseph's University (Philadelphia), College of Our Lady of the Elms (Chicopee, MA), Cabrini College (Radnor, PA), St. Anthony's Friary College (Bangalore, India), the American International College (Springfield, MA), Springfield (MA) College, and St. Anselm College (Manchester, NH). He is the co-author with Bob Robinson of "Without Ceasing to Be a Christian": A Protestant and Catholic Assess the Christological Contribution of Raimon Panikkar (Fortress Press, 2017). He and Joseph Prabhu co-edited the forthcoming volume on Panikkar in Orbis's Modern Spiritual Masters Series. His articles have been published in CIRPET Review and the Journal of Hindu-Christian Studies; his reviews in J.E.S., Religious Studies Review, and the Journal of Buddhist-Christian Studies; and his essays as chapters in two published and two forthcoming volumes. He has presented papers at fifteen professional meetings and conferences in the U. S. and Spain. He has received spiritual direction training and was a board member of the National Jesuit Advisory Board on Mission and Interreligious Dialogue (2007–12). His professional memberships include Spiritual Directors International, the American Academy of Religion, the Catholic Theological Society of America, the College Theology Society, and the Society for Hindu-Christian Studies.
