Abstract:
The English Stanzaic Morte Arthur was a major source for Malory's Morte Darthur, but Malory handled it more deferentially than he did his other major English source, the Alliterative Morte Arthure. Although several English works influenced Malory, he acknowledges them just once in a remark probably inspired by Chaucer.
