Making Space and Marking Race: Emoji Mapping and Liberatory Cartographies in South Los Angeles

This article introduces a social cartography technique called Emoji Mapping, as a component of a larger mural project on the Watts: Riots/Rebellion 50th Anniversary Commemorative Mural Project. While not used exclusively, it served as a catalyst for communal memory and community development.
