Abstract:
"Put on the skin of a lion": The poem grapples with issues of personal trauma and privilege amidst the cruelties of a capitalist society. "I am the body": The poem addresses issues of privilege, despair and survival amidst the cruelties of a capitalist society. "Like life": The poem addresses the resonances of violence and oppression still radiating from the settler colonialism of western Europe and the ways that violence shapes the life of the author.
