Abstract:
"Shelter Awhile" is a lyric meditation on what we do to try to feel okay in the world, to find some peace. A poem about pine trees, exercise, autumn, reading poetry, the full moon, planets, hands. "Smell of Wet Earth Like the Inside of My Hands" is a sonnet on the subject of love. A lyric meditation on rain, sinking into the earth, what we leave behind, how we care for one another.
