Abstract:
In this article, Harvey Young and Bethany Hughes explore the ongoing importance and relevance of dramatic theory to contemporary theatre studies by first outlining how dramatic theory invites a consideration of representational politics. They then explore how dramatic theory encourages a consideration of the social interaction of people, the power of visibility, and the insights of witnessing and audiencing in both the creation of community and the sharing of embodied experiences.
