Written by Alicia Patterson, editor of Newsday and daughter of the impresario of the daily continuity strip, Joseph Patterson, and drawn by the celebrated illustrator Neysa McMein, Deathless Deer is a neglected work by two women whom the industry of the time wanted to see fail. Remembered today only as one of the great flops of comics history, Deathless Deer merits a second look.
