Abstract

Abstract:

From adult stand-up comedy to performing scatological children's puns, humor has shaped the creative output of slam poet Amélie Picq-Grumbach (b. 1979), known onstage as RiM. RiM's poetic style emphasizes the ludic as a creative practice that engages with the plurality of voices of women slam performers and assigns agency to domestic gender roles. Through an analysis of two of her early published poems (2007), this article presents the polyphonic playful style of the slam artist by reading through the lens of Sara Ahmed's feminist snap (2017) and Hélène Cixous's feminine bodily pulsions in writing.
