Abstract

Abstract:

My main concern is with the emotions of wonder and nostalgia in the beginning and end of Hamlet. These cognitive passions involve the whole human being: the critical mind and passionate desire together. Wonder is traditionally a crosser of boundaries, and nostalgia is a pleasurable link to the past, an opening and incentive to its greater understanding.
