Abstract:
This essay expounds on five themes raised by the symposium participants' engagement with the notion that humans are biocultural creatures. These themes concern the excitement and richness of non-binary concept development, the reconsideration of what constitutes knowledge, the possibilities and challenges of collaborative work, the methodological questions posed by cross-or trans-disciplinary research, and the ways that the multiscalar spatial and temporal logics accompanying the concept of the bio-cultural transform the domains, objects, and agents of politics.
