ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 135th Annual General Meeting was held on 25 June 2016 at the Badan Warisan Malaysia, 2 Jalan Stonor, Kuala Lumpur. Tun Mohd Hanif bin Omar, the President of the Society, presided at the meeting and 17 members of the Society were present and 11 proxies.
ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL
The following members of the Society, having been nominated under Rule 21, were elected to the Council. [End Page 157] Gomez & Co were re-appointed Auditors for the year 2017. Mazars Risk Management S.B. were re-appointed the Society's Accountants.

In August 2016, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Simon Sipaun of Sabah accepted an invitation from the council to serve as a Councillor for the 2016/2017 period.
In September, Tun Mohammed Hanif bin Omar resigned as President after 10 years and Tengku Mohamed Fauzi bin Tengku Abdul Hamid accepted Council's invitation to become President of the Society.
In December, Mr Chan Sek Keong from Singapore accepted the Council's invitation to be one of the Patrons of the Society.

The Council met on four occasions during the year.

a). Talk by Emeritus Prof Dr Ahmat Adam entitled "The Krusenstern's Manuscript of the Malay Annals (Sejarah Melayu)", at Badan Warisan Malaysia on 26 March 2016.
