Erratum

In Browne, Tamara Kayali, “A Role for Philosophers, Sociologists and Bioethicists in Revising the DSM” , the last three diagnoses listed in the table on page 190 should be in line with their descriptions as follows:

Pedophilic Disorder: A sexual preference for prepubescent children.

Conduct Disorder: Children or teenagers who steal; lie; deliberately start fires; skip school; break into homes, offices, cars; deliberately destroy property; rape; exhibit violence.

Antisocial Personality Disorder: Similar to Conduct Disorder but diagnosed in adults. Criteria include a failure to conform to social and legal norms, “goal setting based on personal gratification”; or “ego-centrism; self-esteem derived from personal gain, power or pleasure.”

The author’s last name is mistaken as “Kayali Browne” or “Brown” by some of the commentators, but it should be “Browne”.
