Changes at VS:

Sam Tett is now the Head Managing Editor. An em-dash fangirl, she finds parentheses passé--she is not at all surprised to learn of their discovery in the blood of a certain old pedant. She is currently writing a chapter on peripheral British cultures for her dissertation project, which considers a phenomenon she calls "home-grown cosmopolitanism." During her tenure at Victorian Studies she has particularly enjoyed the illuminating office debates, such as: which Harry Potter house would the Brontë sisters have picked? Answers forthcoming.

Miranda Wojciechowski has taken over the position of Assistant Managing Editor. Post-qualifying-exam, she's been spending a lot of time in the Indiana countryside, visiting an invalid friend named Bunbury. Her dissertation research will explore the gendering of credibility in the Victorian and Edwardian novel.

Brooke A. Opel has moved into the position of Head Book Review Editor, where she continues to suffer from grammatical pedantry syndrome, especially when it comes to the Oxford comma. As the office's only Transatlanticist, Brooke is writing a chapter on Fanny Fern and phrenology for her dissertation project, which examines the intersections between nineteenth-century American sentimental fiction and early psychology. Highlights during Brooke's first year at Victorian Studies include her amazing coworkers, the Keurig and all the books.

Trevor McMichael has recently taken over the position of Assistant Book Review Editor. Trevor is a Romanticist with a secondary interest in Victorian Studies (but a primary interest in Victorian Studies). His dissertation will focuses on revenge, form, and perversity in Romantic and Victorian literature.

This fall we have also had the privilege of working with two excellent undergraduate interns. Gabriella Hollman is pursuing a degree in Secondary Education and hopes to teach English at the high school level. She has enjoyed the opportunity to focus on the Victorian era and plans to immerse her future classrooms in Victorian Studies. She would like to thank the VS graduate staff for their patience during the learning process, for their hilarious personal anecdotes, and for the opportunity to assist in the production of a highly accredited academic journal. She promises to keep a copy of the journal in her future classrooms, and to force her students to read it for extra credit. [End Page 721]

Eric Harrington is double-majoring in English and Biology with minors in Psychology and Animal Behavior, and he is also pursuing a Secondary Education teaching license. He is currently toying with the idea of graduate school in English, but wherever he ends up he will certainly be teaching. He would like to thank the staff at VS for providing laughs and an ever-growing list of book recommendations from which he cannot pick. He clearly has trouble making decisions.

As always, Victorian Studies thanks the Indiana University Hutton Honors College, without whose generous support our internship program would not be possible. [End Page 723]
