It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Victoria Michelle Davion, founder and editor of this journal. Vicky passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 5, 2017 with loved ones at her side. In addition to serving as editor of Ethics & the Environment since its founding in 1995, Vicky was longtime Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Georgia until falling ill earlier this year. Her commitment to the department, the journal, and to the fields of environmental ethics and ecofeminism was unwavering, while her tireless selflessness and joyfully enthusiastic spirit made her an inspiring mentor and dear friend to countless colleagues, students, and beloved friends around the globe. Under her direction and with approval of the Editorial Board, Dr. Piers Stephens, also of the University of Georgia, has assumed editorship of Ethics & the Environment. Together with managing editor, Melissa Link and our publisher at Indiana University Press, we are committed to the continued success of Ethics & the Environment as a lasting legacy of Victoria Davion. Further tributes are forthcoming. [End Page i]
