Abstract:
This study addresses a persistent issue among the issues of Arabic orthography from the standpoint of teaching Arabic to nonnative students. The researcher follows the topic of hamzah from its very early stages, outlines the reasons behind the difficulties faced by students in this matter, and presents some types of remedies. The article includes the different shapes of hamzah in the Arabic word: in initial, medial, and final position. The article also points out the importance of drills and activities inside and outside the classroom, emphasizing the use of active practical applications in the classroom as well as suggesting techniques for resolving the issues that students encounter with hamzah in the Arabic script.
