Abstract:
The article argues that Helen Burns, in Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, displays symptoms consistent with the inattentive presentation of ADHD. The article further identifies a continuity between Helen's treatment in the novel and present-day perceptions of women with ADHD.
