Abstract

HowlRound, located at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, was founded in 2011 in the US as a new kind of organizational model to create a more democratized way of sharing knowledge and connecting around theatre practice. It was an intervention that revolutionized the way we talk about theatre in the US. This is a model we are now more actively sharing internationally, and this article talks about the values and practices that led to its founding and current programs that engage more than 50,000 people monthly.
