Notes Alan B. Anderson is associated with the Institute for Behavioural Research, York University. He is VicePresident of the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association and Editor of the CESA Bulletin. Norman Buchignani is a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, University of Alberta. He has just completed work on a history of South Asians in Canada , to be published by McClelland and Stewart. Howard Palmer teaches History at the University of Calgary. His newest book, Patterns of Prejudice: A History of Nativism in Alberta, will soon be published by Mcclelland and Stewart. His article is an updated version of studies which have appeared previously in the International Migration Review, Vol. 15, Nos. 1&2 (Spring/Summer 1981) and The History and Social Science Teacher, November 1981. Evelyn Kallen teaches in the Division of Social Science, York University. She is the author of Ethnicity and Human Rights in Canada (1982). Freda Hawkins is Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. She is a specialist in international migration, immigration and related areas of public policy. Anthony H. Richmond is Director of the Institute for Behavioural Research, York University. He is the author of Postwar Immigrants in Canada (1967). Journal ofCanadian Studies Manoly R. Lupul is Director of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta. He is author of The Roman Catholic Church and the North- West School Question: A Study in Church-State Relations (1974). Rudolf Kalin teaches Psychology at Queen's University. He is, with R. C. Gardner, author of A Canadian Social Psychology ofEthnic Relations (1981). 1. W. Berry is Professor of Psychology at Queen's University. He is, with S. Irvine, editor of Human Assessment and Cultural Factors (1982). K. Victor Ujimoto is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Guelph. He is, with Gordon Hirabayashi, editor of Asian Canadians: RegionalPerspectives (1982). Lionel Rubinoff is Professor of Philosophy and Principal of Julian Blackburn College, Trent University . He is a regular contributor to the Journal. Roy Bowles is Professor of Sociology at Trent University, presently engaged in research at the Children's Hospital Medical Center, Boston, Mass. W. 1. Keith teaches English at the University of Toronto. He is the author of Epic Fiction: The Art of Rudy Wiebe (1981).
