T he Society for Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry announces that, effective 2006, the new site of its organ Calíope will be the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, Boston University. The Society expresses its appreciation to Christopher Maurer, Chair of the Department, for providing the necessary funding and administrative support for our journal. The Society is grateful for the support that Calíope has received from the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at the University of Houston. I am very honored to serve as the next president of the Society, and, on behalf of the Society, I express my enthusiastic gratitude to former president Adrienne L. Martín, University of California, Davis, for her leadership. And, as the Society thanks the departing members of the Board of Directors, Luis Avilés and James Iffland, it warmly welcomes new members Ignacio Navarrete, Mar Martínez Góngora, and Rosa Perelmuter. As Caliope celebrates its twelfth year, I am pleased to announce that Pedro Lasarte, Boston University, will remain on the Board of Directors, since he will assume the duties of Associate Editor for Colonial poetry and poetics. The Society thanks him for his willingness to share in the editorial responsibilities of the journal. The Society also looks forward with much anticipation to the VIIIth Biennial Conference of the Society for Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry, hosted by Pedro Ruiz Pérez and the Universidad de Córdoba, October 18-20, 2007.
