Nicola Behrmann is associate professor of German at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on literary theory, gender studies, archive theory, and early twentieth-century avant-garde historiography. She has coedited the anthology Emmy Hennings Dada (with Christa Baumberger; Scheidegger & Spiess, 2015), two volumes of an annotated study edition of the prose work of Emmy Hennings (with Christa Baumberger; Wallstein, 2016 and 2017), and a special issue of The Germanic Review entitled "Dada 1916/2016" (with Tobias Wilke; vol. 94.4, 2016). Her monograph Geburt der Avantgarde–Emmy Hennings is forthcoming in November 2017 (Wallstein).

Jürgen Fohrmann is professor of German literature and literary theory at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, where he also served as president from 2009 to 2015. He has published on German and European literature (1700–2000), the theory of literature, media studies, the history of philology, cultural theory, and cultural history. His books include Rhetorik: Figuration und Performanz (editor; Metzler, 2004); Gelehrte Kommunikation: Wissenschaft und Medium zwischen dem 16. und 20. Thomas Forrer is assistant professor (Oberassistent) of cultural studies at the University of Lucerne. From 2005 to 2011, he was a research assistant (wissenschaftlicher Assistent) in the German department at the University of Zurich, where he received his PhD with the dissertation Schauplatz/Landschaft–Orte der Genese von Wissenschaften und Künsten um 1750 (Wallstein, 2013). He has published essays on Walter Benjamin, Friedrich Nietzsche, and the history of rhythm. He is coeditor of the books: Wo ist Kultur?–Perspektiven der Kulturanalyse (vdf [End Page 794] Hochschulverlag, 2014) and Der Witz der Philologie–Rhetorik, Poetik, Edition (Stroemfeld, 2014).

Barbara Hahn is the Max Kade Foundation Chair in German Studies at Vanderbilt University. Her books include: "Antworten Sie mir": Rahel Levin Varnhagens Briefwechsel (1990); Unter falschem Namen: Von der schwierigen Autorschaft der Frauen (1991); Die Jüdin Pallas Athene: Auch eine Theorie der Moderne (2002; English translation 2005); Hannah Arendt–Leidenschaften, Menschen und Bücher (2005); Endlose Nacht: Träume im Jahrhundert der Gewalt (2016). In 2011, she published Rahel Levin Varnhagen's Buch des Andenkens für ihre Freunde (6 vols.). Together with Ursula Isselstein, she is the editor in chief of a critical edition of Rahel Levin Varnhagen's letters and notes (7 vols.), and with Hermann Kappelhoff, Ingeborg Nordmann, and Thomas Wild, she is the editor in chief of a critical edition of Hannah Arendt's works (digital and print; ca. 26 vols.).

Jocelyn Holland is associate professor of German at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her books include German Romanticism and Science: The Procreative Poetics of Goethe, Novalis, and Ritter (2009) and Key Texts by Johann Wilhelm Ritter on the Science and Art of Nature (2010). She has also coedited volumes on such diverse topics as equilibrium, the aesthetics of the tool, the role of the Archimedean point in modernity, and timekeeping. Her current project investigates the use of the lever in philosophy, psychology, and German romanticism around 1800.

Tove Holmes is assistant professor of German Studies at McGill University. Her research areas include German literature and thought from the eighteenth century to the present, visual studies, the history of science, literary theory, and environmental humanities. She has published articles on "Blind Spots as Projection Spaces in Die Wahlverwandtschaften" (2017) and "'. . . was ich in diesem Hause geworden bin': Stifter's Visual Curriculum" (2010). She currently holds a grant from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec for the project "Tableaux de la nature: Alexander von Humboldt et l'imaginaire écologique" and is working on a book manuscript on literary images in German realism.

Andrea Krauss is associate professor of German at New York University. Her research interests include the intersection of literature, philosophy, and aesthetics from the eighteenth century to the present as well as literary theory and methodology.
