Abstract

National Trust for Historic Preservation Senior Field Director and Attorney Rober Nieweg interviews the leaders of a series of advocacy campaigns to save Richmond’s former slave trade center, Shockoe Bottom. Representing several advocacy groups, the interviewees discuss the process of defeating a proposal to build a baseball stadium on the site, as well as the community-generated proposal to build a memorial garden.
