Abstract

Lisa Yun Lee, director of the National Public Housing Museum, talks about the forthcoming museum in depth. The article examines both the museum’s history and development and its philosophical approach to preserving and interpreting public housing. The museum aims at once to debunk stereotypes about public housing residents; represent the full complexity and depth of their stories; and address the political and societal injustices that have shaped public housing.
