A particular pleasure for me during my time as Parergon Editor has been the process of working alongside guest editors to produce the annual Special Issues that the journal has published continuously since 2009. This year's second Special Issue, 'Poetry, the Arts of Discourse, and the Discourse of the Arts: Rethinking Renaissance Poetic Theory and Practice', introduces Parergon readers to the research of a group of European scholars. These scholars have taken advantage of this opportunity to publish innovative and exciting scholarship on sixteenth-century English poetics, seen in the context of European Renaissance poetic theory and practice. The guest editors, especially Zenón Luis-Martínez, have been unfailingly cooperative throughout the lengthy process of accepting reviews from our anonymous expert referees, making revisions, and dealing with the minutiae of prepublication demands. I thank them and each one of the authors for producing work that will grace the journal.

Parergon, which now ranks 64th out of 638 journals published online by Project MUSE, owes much to the generosity and professionalism of our expert reviewers, whose careful feedback has assisted the authors to attain the high standards expected of the journal. I must also thank our copyeditor, Bruce McClintock, Reviews Editor, Toby Burrows, and our expert in all the technicalities of the journal's production, Lesley O'Brien. I have enjoyed my time as Editor, and have felt privileged to work alongside colleagues in Perth and from all over the world. To everyone who has collaborated with me, thank you. [End Page ix]
