The Extraordinary Journeys by Jules Verne (1828-1905) are geographical novels that analyse the complex relations between men, society, nature, and geographical space. An ecocritical reading of these novels allows us to show how Verne conveyed a truly human ecology during the second half of the nineteenth century.
