Summary:
The results of the changes in the Quebec educational system over the past ten years have greatly reduced the number of students of Greek and Latin, as the statistics given in this article show, but they have forced classics teachers at all levels to rethink their courses, and there is some evidence that the trend away from classics has been halted, although for the future the greatest need will be for service courses for non-specialists.
